Goods and Services Tax commonly called GST, has replaced all indirect taxes in India. GST has three components; Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST), State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) and Interstate Goods and Services Tax (IGST), if applicable.
The CGST covers all the Central indirect taxes while SGST covers all the State indirect taxes. The CGST is levied by the Central Government, while the SGST is levied by the State Government. In case of interstate transactions, IGST will be levied by the Central Government.
