Check your Policy Status through the LIC Website

Users registered with the official LIC website can check the status of their policy online by logging in the insurer’s website. New users can use the online facility. However, you will need to complete the LIC registration process by filling the LIC online registration form and carrying out the additional process like creating a username and password. After registering, the new user can view the details related to their policy on the insurer’s website.

Procedure to Check the Policy Status for Registered Users

  • To avail this service the registered user must visit LIC official website.
  • You must select the ‘online services’ option on the homepage.
  • A new page will open that contains several options like ‘online loan’, ‘customer portal’, ‘pay premium online’ etc. Click on the ‘customer portal’ button.
  • You will be redirected to the LIC e-services webpage. On this page, select the ‘registered users’ tab.
  • A login page will appear where you must enter your username and password.
  • After a successful login, you have to choose the ‘policy status tab’ from the page.
  • Here a list will appear where all the LIC e-service features will be registered along with details related to them.
  • Thus you can avail these services free of cost.

Check the Policy Status for New Users

  • In case you are a new user, you must fill the online registration form.
  • You must register by choosing a username and password. An e-mail confirmation will be sent to your mail ID on successful registration.
  • Next, you have to enrol your policy. Fill in the basic details regarding your policy along with your personal details on the ‘online policy enrolment form’.
  • You will have to take a print out of the form, sign it and submit it to the policy servicing branch.
  • The branch will provide a confirmation and validate your policy by sending an acknowledgement letter to your e-mail ID.
  • The next step is to add your policy on the website. You can add your policy immediately after registration by providing your policy number and payable premium amount.
  • The information provided will be verified by the insurer and the status of your policy will be displayed.

Check your LIC Policy Status through SMS

An individual who purchased LIC policy can avail the facility of checking policy status through the insurer’s SMS-based helpline services. This facility can be availed on the go by just sending a simple SMS from your phone. The services can be used by new users who are still pending website registration.
