How To Check The Status Of PAN Card?

1. PAN Card status can be checked on NSDL

You can track the PAN card status through NSDL. You can check the PAN card status, simply by using your name and the date of birth, 24 hours after the application has been submitted. You require the 15-digit acknowledgment number, to check the status of PAN.

STEP 1: Visit the NSDL Portal.

STEP 2: Enter the 15-digit acknowledgment number.

STEP 3: Enter your name and date of birth in the requisite format.

STEP 4: You then click “Submit” to check the PAN Card status.

2. Check PAN status via SMS

You have applied through the NSDL Portal and you can check the PAN status via SMS. You simply type ‘NSDLPAN15-digit acknowledgment number’ and then send it to 57575. You get an SMS showing the status of your PAN application.

3. Check PAN status Online Website

  • You have applied through the NSDL Portal and you can check the PAN status via website.
  • You then select the type of application – PAN – New / Change Request.
  • You then enter the 15-digit acknowledgment number.
  • You finally enter the Captcha code and click the Submit button, to check the status of PAN.

4. PAN Card status can be checked on e-Mudra

You have applied for PAN Card on the e-Mudra portal. You will require the reference number to check the status of PAN.

STEP 1: You must first visit the e-Mudra Portal.

STEP 2: You enter the reference number, DOB, and then make the verification, through the automated system.

STEP 3: You click on the “Submit’ button to track the status of your application.

5. PAN Card status can be checked on UTI

STEP 1: You first visit the UTIITSL website.

STEP 2: You will have to click on the link to the PAN Portal.

STEP 3: You then select the ‘Track PAN Card Application Status’ from the menu.

STEP 4: You then enter the PAN Number allotted and the requisite Captcha Text, and the current status of the PAN application will be displayed on the screen.

Checking the status of PAN Card is very simple

NDSL allows you to check the PAN card status, using your name and date of birth.  The status is displayed 24 hours after the submission of the application. You can also check the application status as well as your payment status on the NSDL portal. Follow the below mentioned steps to complete the process:

  1. Visit the PAN card page on the NSDL portal
  2. Enter the name and DOB
  3. Enter the security code
  4. Click submit and check the status of your PAN

Check PAN card status via acknowledgment number:

You can check both your application status as well as your payment status for the PAN card on the NSDL portal. Follow the steps given below to complete the process:

1.    Visit the official PAN Card page on the NSDL portal 

2.    Select your ‘Application Type’ as ‘PAN – New / Change Request.’

3.    Enter your ‘Acknowledgement Number’ in the text box

4.    Enter the code shown on the screen

5.    Click on the ‘Submit’ button

Check PAN card status via Name and DOB:

PAN card status can be checked by entering your name and date of birth. This method is useful in case you have misplaced or don’t remember the acknowledgment number. To check the status of your application follow the below mentioned steps:

  1. Visit the official NSDL website
  2. Select the application type as ‘PAN’ – New/Change Request
  3. Select the option of entering your name and date of birth
  4. Enter you name in the format- last name, middle name and first name
  5. Enter date of birth as mentioned in the application form
  6. Enter the captcha code
  7. Click on the submit button.

Your application status will be displayed on the screen.

Check PAN card status via e-Mudra:

To check the status of PAN through the e-Mudra portal, follow the steps given below:

  1. Visit the e-Mudra website
  2. Enter the ‘reference number’ received after applying for the PAN
  3. Enter the date of birth mentioned while applying for the PAN
  4. Enter the verification code
  5. Click on the submit button.

Check PAN card status via UTIITSL website:

After the online submission of the application form, the status of the PAN card application can be checked after 5 to 7 days. To check status on the UTITSL website, you require the 15 digit acknowledgement number. Follow the mentioned steps to check status of your application:

  • Visit the UTI portal
  • Click on the ‘PAN Card Home’
  • Click on ‘Track PAN Card application status’
  • Click on ‘click here to check status online’
  • Click on submit button
  • You current application status will be displayed.

Check PAN card status via SMS:

After applying for the PAN card, it takes around 20 working days to receive the card. Through the acknowledgement number, you can track the status of PAN application. Other than the online services, you can track the PAN application status through specialized SMS services.

  1. Type ‘NSDLPAN’, SPACE and enter <15 digit acknowledgement number>
  2. Send it to 57575

A SMS will be sent to your registered mobile number containing information on the application status.

  3. For buying foreign currency above Rs 50,000, under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, a PAN is required. 
  4. As per the current rules, you cannot open a bank account if you don’t have a PAN card
  5. You cannot claim income tax returns from the IT department if your PAN is not linked to the bank account.
  6. You also need to show your PAN Card if you want to make bank drafts, pay orders, banker’s cheques and cash deposits above the Rs 50,000.
