Your PAN Card is a very important document. It’s not just an identity proof. You require the PAN even for the simplest financial transactions. If you open a saving bank account, FD, RD or a demat account, you require PAN. You require PAN to invest in ELSS, PPF or NPS. PAN is a 10-digit alphanumeric number, allotted to you, by the income tax department.

You can track the PAN card status through NSDL. You can check the PAN card status, simply by using your name and the date of birth, 24 hours after the application has been submitted. You require the 15-digit acknowledgment number, to check the status of PAN.
STEP 1: Visit the NSDL Portal.
STEP 2: Enter the 15-digit acknowledgment number.
STEP 3: Enter your name and date of birth in the requisite format.
STEP 4: You then click “Submit” to check the PAN Card status.

You have applied through the NSDL Portal and you can check the PAN status via SMS. You simply type ‘NSDLPAN15-digit acknowledgment number’ and then send it to 57575. You get an SMS showing the status of your PAN application.

You have applied for PAN Card on the e-Mudra portal. You will require the reference number to check the status of PAN.
STEP 1: You must first visit the e-Mudra Portal.
STEP 2: You enter the reference number, DOB, and then make the verification, through the automated system.
STEP 3: You click on the “Submit’ button to track the status of your application.
STEP 1: You first visit the UTIITSL website.
STEP 2: You will have to click on the link to the PAN Portal.
STEP 3: You then select the ‘Track PAN Card Application Status’ from the menu.
STEP 4: You then enter the PAN Number allotted and the requisite Captcha Text, and the current status of the PAN application will be displayed on the screen.
