What is the EPF I-Grievance Management System?

The EPF i-grievance management system is an online platform which helps subscribers of the employee provident fund, register complaints and grievances. The online system is updated and managed by the EPFO, providing an efficient and user-friendly experience to the users.

The members can file complaints, send queries, know the status of EPF grievances as well as send reminders for any pending grievances. The platform also provides bilingual services which mean the user can register a complaint in both Hindi and English. Listed below are the matters on which complaints and grievances can be registered through EPF i-grievance management system:

  • EPF withdrawal
  • Final settlement of EPF
  • Transferring PF funds to a new EPF account
  • Insurance benefit payment or 51F
  • Settlement of pension
  • Generation of PF notification
  • Generation of PF slip
  • If Cheque is misplaced or not accepted due to some issue
  • EPS scheme certificate OR 10C
  • Any other EPF related issues.

How to Register an EPF E-Grievance Online?

The member can visit the online portal of the EPF i-grievance management system and register his grievance. On clicking the web portal link, the homepage appears and the members have to select ‘register grievance’ option from the menu present at the top of the screen. You will be redirected to a new page where the grievance registration form appears.

Listed below are the fields contained in the form. The user has to fill all the mandatory fields denoted by an * sign.

Section A Contains EPF Details:

  • Status: The user has to select the status from the drop-down menu i.e. EPF member, EPF pensioner and so on.
  • PF Number: This field consists of office code, region code, establishment code, account number and extension. All these details are mentioned on the salary slip. You can also get the above details by logging on to the UAN portal, if you are a registered member of the UAN.
  • Office to Which Grievances Pertain: The user has to select the office which manages his PF account. You can collect this information from your employer.
  • Name of the establishment
  • Address of the establishment

Section B Contains Fields for Personal Details:

  • Name of the complainant: provide your name
  • Address of the complainant: give your address
  • Pin code: mandatory field
  • Country and state: mandatory field
  • Phone number: not compulsory
  • Mobile number: not compulsory but it’s recommended to provide details in this field
  • Email ID: not compulsory but its recommended to provide details in this field

The next section consists of grievance details. The user must enter details listed below:

  • Grievance category: The user must select the type of grievance he/she wants to register from the drop-down menu.
  • Grievance Description: The user has to provide the description of the complaint. A word limit of 5,000 words is provided. PDF documents can also be attached to the description.
  • Captcha code: The user must enter the security code generated on the screen.

The user must click on the submit button. Once the complaint is submitted, the user is offered a unique registration number. This number helps the user track the status of the grievance, online.

The EPFO scrutinizes the grievance application and after verification, forwards it to the relevant authority for resolution. The time taken to resolve the issue generally varies from 15 to 30 days.

How to Check the Status of EPF Grievance Online?

Users, who have registered their complaint using the EPF i-grievance management system, can visit the portal to check the status of grievances online. To know the status of your complaint, follow the steps given below:

  • Click on ‘check status’ option from the home page
  • Enter the registration number and password
  • Provide the captcha code and click  on enter
  • The status of your grievance application is displayed.

Send Reminders for Redressal of EPF Grievances:

The user can send reminders to the EPFO in case the grievance has not been resolved, within the given time frame. For this, the user must click on ‘send reminder’ from the menu bar of the EPF i-grievance management system and enter the registration number and password. The next step is to provide the captcha code and select ‘enter’ to send a reminder for redressal of the EPF grievance.
