The Kerala floods have destroyed cars, with engines submerged for hours. The engine is the heart of the car and gets damaged if it is started in water-logged areas. Water gets sucked into the engine causing permanent damage. If the car engine is submerged for hours, it gets totally destroyed.
Car insurance plans in India are of 2 types. You have the third party liability insurance and a comprehensive car insurance plan. The third party liability insurance compensates a third party, who is injured or his/her vehicle/property damaged in an accident, caused by you. It’s compulsory to avail third party liability insurance in India.
A comprehensive car insurance plan protects your car from damage caused by floods, earthquakes and natural calamities. But, even a comprehensive car insurance plan, doesn’t cover all damages to your vehicle. This is why you need add-ons with a car insurance plan.
