The Aadhaar card is a 12-digit unique identification number that is issued to every resident of India. The UIDAI functions under the planning commission of India, and is responsible for managing Aadhaar numbers and issuing Aadhaar identification cards.
The Aadhaar project was initiated as an attempt towards having a single, unique identification document or number that would capture all the details, including demographic and biometric information, of every resident Indian citizen.
The government of India has recently introduced the direct benefit scheme. The Aadhaar plays a pivotal role in helping you avail the benefits of this scheme. A customer must link the 12-digit Aadhaar card number to the LPG gas connection. This facility eliminates the chances of a customer not receiving subsidies.
