The EPFO has launched an online portal as well as mobile app that help users know their PF balance easily, without having to wait for their employers to share the provident fund statement. UMANG app, also known as Unified Mobile Application, is an all-in-one app launched by the Union Government to encourage more people to adopt digital payment transactions in the country. The application was launched in the year 2017 for smart phone users.
This application enables users to subscribe to the EPF to check the provident fund balance, anytime. There are other benefits of using this app as well. The users can view their EPF passbooks, raise withdrawal claims and track the status of the claim on their smart phones. However, the user must subscribe to the app using the mobile number to start using the app.
The EPF account balance can be checked anytime on Smart phones. The user has to install the UMANG app from the Google Play store and follow the steps given below to check EPF claim using the UMANG app:
The EPFO has launched an online portal for users to view their EPF passbooks online. In order to view the EPF passbook on this website, the user must attach his/her UAN to the EPF account. If you want to download or print the EPF passbook from the website, follow the steps mentioned below:
An employee or a member can also enquire about the balance in the EPF account by sending SMS. The EPFO has enabled members to know the details on the latest contribution and PF balance by sending a text message through mobile. The members can send a SMS to 7738299899 and type the following in the body of the message:
The last three letters represents the first three characters of the preferred language of the user. The text facility is available for 9 different regional languages and English. However, to use this facility the Universal Account Number or UAN of the user must be linked to the bank account, Aadhaar number, and Permanent Account Number (PAN).
An individual can also get the details of the PF balance by giving a missed call. The registered UAN member can give a missed call on the number 011-22901406 from his registered mobile number.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched a Smartphone application for the ease of users and to simplify the process related to the provident fund. The mobile app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. On installing the app on their Smartphone, the user is required to select the 'Member' option followed by the 'Balance/Passbook' option. The next step is to enter the Universal Account Number or UAN along with the registered mobile number of the individual.
If subscriber has forgotten the username and password, then he/she can login to the PF account either by entering their registered mobile number or by entering the KYC details including PAN card details.
To check EPF balance using the PAN card details on the EPFO member portal, the subscriber must ensure that his/her PAN card number is linked with their PF account. To check the EPF balance using PAN card details follow the steps mentioned below:
