Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a new mobile app UMANG on November 23rd 2017. Unified Mobile Application for New-Age Governance also called UMANG, will allow you and other citizens to access all Government services on a single platform. This app will help you access services like Aadhaar, Digilocker and even Bharat Bill Payment System through the newly launched UMANG app.
Aadhaar is the World's largest biometric ID system. Aadhaar is a 12 digit unique-identity number, which has been issued to you and all resident citizens of our country. You have to link Aadhaar to bank accounts, Aadhaar to PAN, Aadhaar to insurance plans, Aadhaar to mutual funds, Aadhaar to LPG and even Aadhaar to your mobile number within given deadlines.
Digilocker is a unique online storage facility provided by the Modi Government. You can upload documents like Voter ID card, PAN, Driving license and even education certificates. All these documents will be linked to Aadhaar. Under Bharat Bill Payment System, details of all bills issued by utility services such as electricity, water, gas, telephone, DTH and insurers are collected at one place.

EPFO services are now available on the UMANG App. You go to the EPFO website and click on this link. Through this link, you can go to the app download page. You then give the App permission to access your location, SMS and even the call data.
Now you have to register on UMANG using your Smart phone. You will get an OTP (One Time Password) sent to your mobile number. You then choose two security questions to recover your account from the app, in case you forget your MPIN.
The UMANG app will prompt you to link your Aadhaar Number, which is completely voluntary. If you give your consent, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will use your Aadhaar details for eKYC. Your KYC details will automatically be seeded to your profile, name, date of birth, gender and the address, which will be populated for you in the next page.
You can view your passbook, even if you don't link Aadhaar to UMANG.
