Voter ID Corrections

What are the eligibility criteria to apply for voter ID? Voter ID is issued to all the eligible citizens of India. Below mentioned are the basic criteria to apply for voter ID;

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India
  • The applicant must be at least 18 years of age
  • The applicant must not hold voter ID in other constituencies

  • Log on to https://www.nvsp.in
  • Click on ‘Correction of entries in electoral roll’ and this will open a new tab, click on ‘form 8’
  • Choose your respective state, district and assembly/constituency
  • Enter your name (first name and surname separately in the respective fields)
  • Enter your part number, serial number and voter ID number, all of these are mentioned on your voter ID
  • Choose (by clicking on the tick mark against particulars) the details that need to be corrected
  • Enter the correct details and you need to support the entered details with a relevant document
  • Enter your active phone number and email ID, a tracking number/reference ID would be sent post submission of the application
  • Track your application status using the tracking number received on your phone number/email ID
