Here Are The Steps To Follow To Apply For Voter ID Card Online:

1) Log on to National Voters’ Services Portal (NVSP) at https://www.nvsp.in/

2) Click on the option of ‘Apply online for registration of new voter/due to shifting from AC’, you may directly go to NVSP Form 6 page.

3) You can choose to view website content in your preferred language, from the drop-down given at the top right of the screen.

4) Fill all details like name, age and address.

5) Upload scanned copies of your latest photograph, along with identity proof and address proof.

6) Once you fill the form, check details to ensure accuracy and click on ‘Submit’ at the bottom of the page.

7) On successfully submitting the application form, you will receive an email and SMS on the registered email ID and phone number, containing a reference number. This reference number can be used to track the application status.

1) Visit the regional election commission office and fill Form 6.

2) Carry attested copies of identity and address proofs.

3) Attach a latest photograph and submit it at the regional election commission office.

4) On submission, you will be given a reference number which is to be used to track the application status.

1) Log on to https://www.nvsp.in/.

2) Click on ‘Track Application Status’.

3) Enter the reference number.

4) Your application status would be displayed

How NRIs can also Apply for Voter ID Card? Here's the Way:

Non Resident Indians NRIs or Overseas Citizens of India OCIs, can also apply for a Voter ID online on the official NVSP website.

Log on to the website and click on the option ‘Apply online for registration of overseas voters’. Fill all required details and click on ‘submit’.

Eligibility To Apply For Voter ID

  • The applicant must be an Indian Citizen.
  • The applicant must be 18 years of age.
  • The applicant must have a valid ID proof.
  • The applicant must have a valid address proof.
  • The applicant must not have voter ID of any other constituency. If so, he or she must submit Form 6, to delete the name in the electoral roll of the old constituency.

  • You can search your name in the electoral roll by entering details like name, father’s or husband’s name, age, date of birth, district, state, gender and assembly constituency.
  • Another option to search for the name is by keying in your electoral photo ID card number or EPIC number which is mentioned on the voter ID card issued.
