Chinese telecom equipment firm Huawei Technologies, which has got approval to take part in the demonstration of 5G during the three-day India Mobile Congress starting here on Thursday, said it is hopeful that the Indian government will make independent and fair decision on 5G for the country's long-term benefit, based on verifiable facts and technical data rather than ideology or the vendor's country.

The US Embassy asked visa applicants to apply up to 90-days before their employment begins. "Applying for your work #USvisa? You can apply up to 90 days before the employment start date noted on your I-797 form," the US Embassy wrote in a tweet. The US work visa for Indian nationals is one of the most important issues between US and India bilateral ties.

Defence-Minister Rajnath Singh left France at the end of a three-day-visit, which he said had been extremely productive and would further strengthen bilateral-defence ties. Mr Singh, who took formal-charge and flew a sortie of the first of 36 Rafale-combat-jets to be inducted into the IAF during the tour, left with a message for French-companies to make India their base for production of defence equipment.
