Vizag-bound AP Express catches fire, no casualties

Two coaches of the Andhra Pradesh AC Superfast Express caught fire around 11.50 am on Monday while the train was on its way from New Delhi to Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. However, no casualties were reported. According to the railway officials, the fire was reported in the B6 coach near Birlanagar station in Gwalior when a high-tension wire fell on the train.
India falling short of meeting conservation goals on biodiversity

India is failing to meet its conservation goals amid declining global biodiversity, even as the world celebrates the International Day for Biological Diversity on Tuesday. IBD marks 25 Years of Action for Biodiversity initiated by the United Nations Convention on Biological Biodiversity. A total of 196 countries, including India, are signatories of the CBD and will highlight their achievements as part of the programme.

The first consignment of 2-million barrels of crude-oil from United Arab Emirates reached the strategic petroleum reserve at Mangaluru on Monday. The oil-cargo from Abu Dhabi National Oil Co, the only one to partner with India on its crude oil reserve programme till-date, is for filling up one of the two strategic petroleum reserve caverns built by Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserve Ltd at Mangalore.

Defunct Kingfisher Airlines (KFA) along with 17 other firms will be delisted from the National Stock Exchange of India from May-30. According to a NSE circular, companies like KFA, Agro Dutch Industries, Broadcast Initiatives and Lumax Automotive Systems among others will be delisted. Earlier, on May-11, 2018, BSE delisted over 200 companies "that have remained suspended for more than six months" or were liquidated.

The ED took fresh action against Nirav Modi and attached assets worth Rs.170-crore of the absconding diamantaire in connection with its money laundering probe in the over USD2-billion PNB fraud case, officials said. They said the central probe agency issued a provisional order under the PMLA attaching a number of bank accounts, immovable-assets and share investments of Nirav Modi, his associates and business-linked firms.

The Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) on Monday declared the results of Class 10 board examination 2018 for both regular and private students in Bhiwani. The Class 10 exams were held between 8 and 31 March. The Class 10 or matriculation results are now available on the official website of the Haryana Board, also known as Board of School Education, Haryana (BSEH).
