In a first, India to host Asian Weightlifting Championships next year

In a historic first for Indian weightlifting, the country will host the prestigious Asian Championships next year, which will also double up as a qualifying event for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, the national federation said today. The Championship was awarded to India at the Executive Board Meeting and Congress of the Asian Weightlifting Federation held on April 22 at Urgench, Uzbekistan.

The implementation of an e-way bill in Haryana under the Goods and Services Tax has seen a grand success, state Excise and Taxation Minister Abhimanyu said. Since the launch of an intrastate e-way bill from April 20, 2018, the number of e-way bills generated in Haryana has more than doubled from the previous number when only interstate e-way bills were generated, he said.

Delhi Metro began a trial run on the Lajpat Nagar- Sir Vishveshwaraiah Moti Bagh section of the 59-km long Pink Line. The number of telephone subscribers in India increased from 1,175.01 million at the end of January 2018 to 1,179.83 million at the end of February 2018, a monthly growth rate of 0.41%, official data released by the TRAI said in New Delhi. The overall teledensity in India increased from 90.61 at the end of January 2018 to 90.89 at the end of February 2018.

Gold prices came down in Delhi for a second straight day on Tuesday. Supreme Court stops construction in illegal Delhi colonies
