The Hong Kong Monetary Authority increased its base rate by 25 bps on Thursday. This is the second time for the central bank of Hong Kong to raise the base rate in three months. The rate hike was supported by the steady economic growth, strong job gains in the country and the inflation rate rising in line with the Bank’s expectations.
