Cashew nut exports fall by 16%; domestic consumption witnesses growth

Cashew nut export volumes are steadily declining even as domestic consumption is witnessing a consistent growth. Cashew export has dropped for the second successive year in 2016-17. It fell by 16% to 81,110 tonnes. In the year before it had declined by 19% to 96,346 tonnes. At the same time, domestic consumption has touched 3 lakh tonnes and is growing at 5-6% annually.
