Qualcomm unveils first mmWave 5G antennas for smartphones

Qualcomm unveiled the new QTM052 mmWave antenna module that will enable 5G networking spectrum to work with mobile phones. The size of a penny, the module features four antennas that can accurately point toward the nearest 5G tower. Earlier, Samsung, LG, Sony, HTC and Xiaomi said they will work with Qualcomm to launch 5G-ready phones by 2019.
OnePlus 7 will be 5G compatible, company working on US carrier support

The company's CEO Pete Lau has confirmed some features for their next flagship, which will likely be the OnePlus 7. Lau confirmed that the next OnePlus flagship, possibly the OnePlus 7, will be 5G ready. It also looks like the company is getting ready to partner with a US carrier to expand its reach in one of the most important smartphone markets.

The 5G committee of the telecom ministry has said that around 6000 megahertz (Mhz) of spectrum can be made available without delay for the next generation mobile service. If accepted, the panel's recommendation, which has been submitted to the government, can lead to India's largest ever spectrum allocation for a service.
