Absconding businessman Vijay Mallya has made "humble request" to banks to accept his offer to pay back the money he borrowed to keep his now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines afloat. Mallya also slammed Indian media for repeatedly calling him a defaulter. In a series of posts on-micro-blogging website Twitter, Mallya reiterated his stand to pay 100% of principal amount to banks and called for fair treatment.

London court orders seizure of Vijay Mallya's UK assets

A UK High Court judge has issued an enforcement order in favour of a consortium of 13 Indian banks, seeking to recover funds owed to them by beleaguered liquor baron Vijay Mallya. The order grants permission to the UK High Court Enforcement Officer to enter the 62-year-old tycoon's properties in Hertfordshire, near London.
