Aadhaar authority UIDAI's helpline number automatically saves in smartphones without users' consent under the name 'UIDAI', several people have reported. Security expert Elliot Alderson, who earlier questioned Aadhaar, wrote, "Many people, with different providers, with and without Aadhaar card, with and without mAadhaar app, noticed your phone number in contact list without their knowledge".
