Re-verification of mobile-subscribers post SC verdict on Aadhar

After the Supreme Court's verdict on Aadhaar, the Department of Telecom (DoT) and Unique Identity Authority of India (UIDAI) issued a joint statement stating that the government will not push for re-verification of mobile service customers. The statement also said that it will be done only if a customer opts to replace Aadhaar records with their any alternate identity or address proof.

Advocates who argued in the Aadhaar case and those who keenly watched the proceedings termed the Supreme Courts Wednesday judgement as good, balanced and reasonable. Senior advocates Rakesh-Dwivedi, Arvind Dattar, K V Vishwanathan and Sajan Poovayya, who argued either for or against the Aadhaar scheme, expressed satisfaction over the verdict of the Supreme Court, which cleared the Centres flagship programme with checks and balances.
Now, JEE, NET aspirants don't have to furnish Aadhaar

Rolling back the order of CBSE, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified it is no longer necessary to furnish Aadhaar for appearing in JEE and NET. In 2017, the CBSE made Aadhar compulsory, an order which was changed by UGC soon. As per the earlier order, the students' Aadhar number was to be printed on their mark sheets, but not anymore.
