Raninder is first Indian to be elected international shooting bodys vice-president

Raninder Singh has become first Indian to be elected one of four vice-presidents of International Shooting Sport Federation. The 51-year-old Raninder also heads the National Rifle Association of India. The former trap shooter bagged 161votes to occupy the coveted post, while Kevin Kilty of Ireland received 162votes, USA's Robert Mitchell got 153votes and Republic of China's Wang Yifu was re-elected with 146votes in Munich.

Abhinav Bindra, the 2008 Olympic gold medallist was conferred with shooting's highest award by the ISSF at the General Assembly in Munich. The Arjuna awardee on receiving the prestigious Blue Cross took to Twitter to express that he feels "extremely humbled." The 36-year-old Bindra had created history during the Beijing Olympics when he became the first Indian individual to clinch a gold medal.

Abhinav Bindra only sportsperson to win the gold-medal in the Olympics, has been honored with a-prestigious-award. The 36-year-old former shooter has now won the 'Blue Cross' award at the International Shooting Sport Federation. 'Blue Cross' is the highest award by ISSF, considering the great feat of shooters for your information. Abhinav is also the first Indian shooter to be awarded the Blue Cross awards.
