Accenture names Julie Sweet as CEO

Accenture has named Julie Sweet as its new CEO, replacing interim CEO David Rowland, who stepped in after the death of Pierre Nanterme in January. Sweet is currently CEO for North America, which is the company's largest market. In that job she played an integral role in transforming the consulting firm into a driving force in the digital transformation of the world's largest companies.

Consulting major Accenture's 59-year-old Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pierre Nanterme has stepped down from his position citing health reasons. Nanterme, who held the CEO position since 2011 and also served as Chairman, said in July 2016 that he had surgery for colon cancer. Accenture's Chief Financial Officer David Rowland has been named the interim CEO.
Skill gap puts $1.97 trillion growth at risk in India: Report

India may have to forgo as much as $1.97 trillion in GDP growth promised by investment in intelligent technologies over the next decade if the country fails to bridge the skill gap, a new report from Accenture said. Advanced technologies such as AI, AR/VR and Blockchain can enable rapid reskilling and upskilling at scale, said the report titled "Fueling India's Skill Revolution".
