Supreme Court to begin hearing pleas challenging gay sex law today

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to accept the request of the Centre seeking adjournment of Tuesdays hearing by a Constitution Bench to revisit the 2013 verdict making gay sex illegal between two consenting adults. A newly re-constituted Constitution bench has posted for Tuesday for hearing the petitions challenging IPC Section 377 which criminalises unnatural sex between two consenting adults.
Just 25% adults use Internet in India: Pew survey

Despite the government's Digital India initiative, only 25% of the adults in India used internet in 2017, which is among the lowest in the world, a Pew Research Center survey found. It also revealed smartphone ownership in the country increased from 12% in 2013 to 22% in 2017. Social media use increased from 8% in 2013 to 20% in 2017.
