P Chidambaram Summoned Over Probe Into Congress-Era Air India Deal

Former Union minister P Chidambaram has been summoned for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the purchase of 111 aircraft for Air India during the Congress-led UPA government, sources said. The deal, made more than a decade ago, saddled the struggling national carrier with mounting losses, investigative agencies said. The questioning has been slated for August 23.

Airbus unveiled a concept aircraft with splayed wingtips and a fanned tail inspired by the feathers of an eagle as it experiments with "biomimicry" technology that could eventually lead to quieter landings and less pollution. The European planemaker's UK subsidiary sought to capture the imagination of future engineers by showing off a model of the raptor-like airliner at a military air show in England.
Saudi carrier flyadeal ditches grounded Boeing MAX for Airbus

Saudi budget carrier flyadeal has withdrawn a provisional order for Boeing's grounded 737 MAX jets, the US plane maker said Sunday, as the airline confirmed a new order for Airbus A320 aircraft. "We understand that flyadeal will not finalise its commitment to the 737 MAX at this time given the airline's schedule requirements," a Boeing spokesman said.
