China Mobile may tie-up with Voda Idea, Airtel: Report

China's biggest telecom operator China Mobile is reportedly in talks with Airtel and Vodafone Idea to jointly develop a cloud network in India. China Mobile wants to enter India by forming a holding company with either of these two companies or both, reports said. Top executives from China Mobile met senior officials of Airtel and Vodafone Idea separately in December.
Airtel launches Wi-Fi calling service in Delhi NCR

Bharti Airtel today launched its voice over Wi-Fi service 'Airtel Wi-Fi Calling'. 'Airtel Wi-Fi Calling' is designed to enhance voice calling experience for Airtel smartphone customers, especially when they are indoors, said the telco in a press release. "With 'Airtel Wi-Fi Calling', customers with Wi-Fi at home or office will get excellent signal quality indoors," it further claimed.
Bharti Telecom seeks Rs 4,900 crore FDI nod; infusion to make Airtel foreign firm

Bharti Telecom, a promoter of Bharti-Airtel, has sought government nod for the infusion of Rs.4,900-crore investment from Singapore-based Singtel and other foreign entities, a move that would make the country's oldest private-telecom-operator a foreign entity. The fund infusion will enhance foreign stakeholding in Bharti Telecom to over 50% that will make it a foreign-owned entity, an official source aware of the development told PTI.
