India's second largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel and the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) has launched a safety app My Circle for women which has been designed to help in the event of any distress or panic situation. Bharti Airtel and FICCI Ladies Organisation have launched a safety app My Circle for women. The carrier-agnostic app can be installed by both Airtel and non-Airtel customers.

Airtel cuts ISD rates to B'desh and Nepal by 75%, 40%

Bharti Airtel has sharply cut international call tariffs to Bangladesh and Nepal for its prepaid customers to boost consumption on these routes and, in turn, drive overseas call revenues. International calls to Bangladesh will now be charged at Rs.2.99 a minute from Rs.12 a minute earlier. Calls to Nepal, in turn, will be priced at Rs.7.99 a minute from Rs.13 a minute earlier.

Airtel clears Rs 32,000 crore rights issue

Billionaire Sunil Mittal-led Bharti Airtel said that its board-of-directors has approved a-plan-to raise Rs.32,000-crore through a mix of rights-issue and bonds, a move that will give the telecom major moneybags to take on sector disruptor Reliance Jio. Airtel's announcement came days after parent-firms Vodafone and Aditya Birla Group said they will infuse over Rs.18,000-crore into country's largest telecom operator Vodafone Idea Ltd through a-rights-issue.
