Amazon Web Services creates 500 jobs in Germany

Amazon Web-Services said it was creating 500 jobs in Germany and opening a new office in Munich that will showcase what cloud computing can do for potential clients in Europe's largest economy. AWS, which grew out of the technology that runs Amazon's e-commerce platform, is gaining scale in Germany after addressing concerns about privacy that led many manufacturing firms to keep their servers on-site.
Amazon employees will reportedly walk out over climate change inaction

Over 1,000 Amazon employees in the US have planned a mass walkout on September 20 to protest Amazon's lack of action around climate change. In an internal petition, the employees made three demands. This included a halt on funding to politicians and lobbying groups which deny climate change and a bid for Amazon to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2030.
Amazon gets CCI's nod to acquire 0.51% equity share of Quess Corp

Fair trade regulator Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Monday said it cleared Amazon's acquisition of 0.51% equity share capital of Quess Corp for Rs.51 crore. The investment will go to Quess Corp's wholly-owned subsidiary Qdigi Services, which provides after-sales services for smartphones and consumer electronics. Quess acquired Qdigi from HCL Infosystems for about $4.7 million in 2018.
