Ambulance Services Hit As Operators Go On Strike In Rajasthan

Ambulance services were crippled across Rajasthan on Thursday after the staffers of a company which operates them went on an indefinite strike demanding job assurance, officials said. The tenure of existing company, GVK-EMRI, which operates ambulances in the state, is going to end in December. The state government has issued a Request For Proposal (RFP) for a new tender to run the ambulances.
Telangana man launches 'ambulance service' to ferry drunks home safely

A social activist in Telangana has converted his car into an "ambulance" to safely transport drunk people to their respective homes, free of cost. Avula Gopal Reddy has asked drunk people to give him a call when they need a ride. He also said the police should provide drunk people with shelter and the government should not collect any penalty.

A protest was staged outside MMG Government-Hospital, Ghaziabad, on Thursday after a three-day-old baby died, allegedly, because the hospital didn't provide an ambulance. The child's father, Deepak Kumar, alleged in the absence of ambulance, he had to take his son on a scooter to a private-hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
