Anil Ambani seeks to sell or lease out Mumbai HQ

Businessman Anil Ambani is in talks with a group of global private-equity-firms including Blackstone and another US-based fund to either sell his headquarters in the financial-capital or give it on long-term lease, said three-people familiar with the development. However, the site is also caught-up in a legal-tangle, they said. Ambani plans to move back to his Ballard Estate office in south Mumbai, they said.

Chinese Banks Demand $2.1 Billion From Embattled Anil Ambani's Firm

Chinese lenders, including China Development Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Exim Bank of China, have demanded at least $2.1 billion from embattled tycoon Anil Ambani's Reliance Communications Ltd., that slid into bankruptcy earlier this year. State-owned China Development Bank, with loans worth Rs.9,860 crore ($1.4 billion) was the biggest creditor to the indebted telecom company, according to the source.

Anil Ambani To Withdraw Defamation Suits Against Congress, National Herald

Anil Ambani's Reliance Group said it has decided to withdraw the Rs.5,000-crore civil-defamation suits filed against Congress-leaders and National-Herald newspaper, saying it believes their statements and article on Rafale-fighter-jet-deal were made for political purposes in the run-up to the general election. The suits were filed in an Ahmedabad court and were being heard in the court of city civil and sessions judge PJ Tamakuwala.
