Naresh Goyal quits: First act of gripping drama ends, Jet's fate now up in the air

Naresh Goyal the founder chairman of Jet Airways, India's oldest private sector airline and his wife Anita Goyal have stepped down from the airline's board, the airline said Monday. Goyal has also resigned as chairman. Lenders to Jet have taken over the company's management and board. The lenders will shortly initiate an auction process to find a new strategic investor for the company.

Zoom Air likely to restart operations in January

Gurgaon-based Zoom Air, which has been grounded since July, is likely to restart-operations from next-month after aviation regulator renewed the carrier's flying permit which had been held back over safety-concerns. A senior DGCA official said airline had been asked to send a revised operating schedule. Zoom Air recorded around 77% passenger load factor on its 50-seater CRJ200 aircraft during 2018 before it was grounded.

London's Gatwick Airport sold for $3.7 billion to Vinci

Vinci SA agreed to acquire control of Gatwick Airport for $3.7 billion as the French construction company jumped on chance to add a major London hub to its aviation portfolio. The purchase of 50.01% stake in the world's second-busiest single runway airport from a-group-of-investors including sovereign wealth funds from Abu Dhabi and Australia will be financed with pound-denominated debt, Vinci said on Thursday.
