Patients are switching to herbal medicines for diabetes

The number of people with diabetes in India is increasing due to lifestyle changes and is second only to China, confirms data. According to the WHO, the chronic ailment affects approximately 42 crore people worldwide. Due to proven better results, a recent survey confirmed that most of the patients in India are now moving towards more economical and safer herbal medicine to tackle diabetes.
India pitches yoga, ayurveda to lure more US tourists

India is betting on roadshows and the appeal of alternate therapies like yoga and ayurveda to draw in more tourists from the US, whose numbers have swelled past those from the UK the other big revenue earner for Indian tourism. The country conducted its 'Incredible India' roadshows in New York and Chicago last month which were presided over by tourism minister KJ Alphons.
