Karnataka high court tells BBMP: If you do not work, will hire a new agency

Furious that the BBMP has failed to achieve the zero-pothole target, the Karnataka high court warned the civic body that a responsible agency may be entrusted with the work. If BBMP doesn't work, Bengaluru can't be closed down. The high court was livid over the civic body's failure to utilize the 34-day period since the previous hearing to fix potholes in the city.
Bengaluru: Congress shifts 5 independent corporators to resort

To avoid alleged horse-trading, the Congress party on late Thursday night shifted five independent corporators to a resort in Bengaluru ahead of the elections to the posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The election was necessitated following the terms of Sampath Raj and Padmavathi Narasimhamurthy as the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of BBMP respectively.

Congress has fielded a Lingayat candidate for Mayor post in the 259 members Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) which is going to elect new Mayor and Deputy Mayor on Friday. Congress fielded a Lingayat candidate Gangambike saying no Lingayat was elected as BBMP mayor earlier, now the community got justice.
