
Bihar Policemen Suspended For Failing To Check Union Minister's Car

Three policemen, including a sub-inspector, were suspended for allowing Union minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey's vehicle go without verification of papers during a drive to ensure implementation of the amended motor vehicles act in Patna on Sunday, an official statement said. The vehicle with tinted glasses was being driven by Arijit Choubey, the son of Union Minister of State for Health.

Bihar Police to Recruit 24,000 Constables, 4,500 Sub-inspectors Soon

The Bihar government would be beginning a massive recruitment drive to draft about 24,000 constables, 4,500 sub-inspectors and 2,000 drivers in August. The process will begin by August-end and would be completed by 2023. DGP Gupteshwar Pandey said, "The excise is to fill the vacant posts in the ranks of constabulary and sub-inspectors."

5.28 Lakh Posts Vacant In Police Forces; 1.29 Lakh In UP, 50,000 In Bihar

A whopping 5.28-lakh police-posts are lying vacant in the country of which nearly 1.29-lakh are in Uttar Pradesh, 50,000 in Bihar and 49,000 in West-Bengal. There are 23,79,728 sanctioned posts in police-forces of all states of which 18,51,332 were occupied as on January 1, 2018, according to Home Ministry statistics. The Tamil-Nadu Police has 22,420 posts vacant against its sanctioned strength of 1,24,130 personnel.
