Store nations urine, end urea import: Nitin Gadkari

Lamenting that his out-of-box proposals often find no takers, Union minister Nitin Gadkari voiced another such idea: make urea from urine. If it is done, India will not need to import fertiliser, he claimed, addressing a gathering of young-innovators at Mayor Innovation Awards function of Nagpur Municipal Corporation. Talking about importance of innovation, he gave example of how bio-fuels can be extracted from natural-waste.

Delhi gurudwaras to set up biofuel plant for kitchen waste

Following the footsteps of Shiromani-Gurdwara-Parbandhak-Committee (SGPC) in Amritsar the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee will now set up biogas plants in all the gurudwara complexes in Delhi. The form of energy is considered as one of the most environment friendly and can also be procured easily. Waste would help in generating the energy good enough to cook the langar food in Delhi Gurudwaras.

Gadkari urges farmers to make biofuel to replace petrol, diesel

Union-Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Gadkari urged the farmers to make ethanol and use it as a-replacement for petrol and diesel. Addressing a public gathering in Durg, the Union-Minister said that "We import fuel worth Rs.8lakh-crore, Rupee-value is falling vs Dollar. I have been saying since 15-years that farmers and tribals can make biofuel and fly-aircraft. Our new technology can run-vehicles on ethanol."
