Released by party top brass, including PM Narendra Modi, party president Amit Shah, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, the BJP manifesto, called Sankalp Patra, comes three days before the first phase of voting for the 17th Lok Sabha.

BJP manifesto 2019: No to Article 370 and Article 35A

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has proposed in its Lok Sabha election manifesto to eliminate Article 370 of the Constitution. Article 370 gives autonomous status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP manifesto also talks about annulling Article 35A of the Constitution of India. Article 35A provides special rights and privileges to the permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

The BJP on Monday announced the names of three more Lok Sabha candidates from Odisha. With this, the party has announced the names of 374 candidates. The party has also released the names of 11 more candidates for the Odisha state assembly polls, which will be held in four phases starting from April 11 and ending on April 29.
