Government releases Rs. 400 crore for development of border states

Nearly Rs. 400 crore has been released by the Center to 10 states having international borders as part of an ambitious plan to ameliorate the problems of those living in these isolated locations, officials said on Monday. The funds released were in addition to Rs. 1,100 crore released in 2017-18 for the development of villages located along the international borders in 17 states.
India, Bangladesh border forces to hold coordination meeting

The 47th Director General Level Co-ordination meeting between Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will start from Monday in New Delhi. “Relations between India and Bangladesh are at all-time high and border guarding forces of both sides are carrying out various events for officers and men on the reciprocal basis under confidence-building measures,” the BSF said in a statement.
High-flying drones to help watch borders

Indian Army will soon have UAVs that can operate at a height of over 18,000-feet, 0r 5,500-metre, to detect military buildup or infiltration at the frontiers with both China and Pakistan. Sources say the need for high altitude observation has been taken in wake of face offs with Chinese troops including Doklam last year and increased infiltration by Pakistan along the Line of Control.
