Sensex loses 792 points to close below 35K-mark

The BSE Sensex lost 792.17 points to close at 34,376.99, dragged by oil and financial stocks, after the RBI kept the repo-rates unchanged but changed its stance to "calibrated-tightening" from "neutral". With the rupee breaching the 74-mark and the government asking oil marketing companies to absorb the cost of fuel cuts further pulled the markets down. NSE Nifty 50 closed 282.80 lower at 10,316.45.
Sensex drops below 35,000-mark ahead of RBI policy outcome

The BSE Sensex fell over 300-points, extending its losing run for the third-day, ahead of the RBI's bi-monthly policy. The 30-share-index after cracking the 35,000-mark by falling over 335 points to touch a low of 34,833.81, pared some losses to quote 194.44 points, or 0.55% lower at 34,974.72. It lost 1,356.98 points in the previous two sessions on rupee woes and boiling crude-oil prices.
