A Japanese bullet-train hurtling along at 280 kilometres/hour ran for nearly a minute with one of its doors completely open on Wednesday, its operator said. The incident, due to human error, was a rare-mishap for the Japanese "Shinkansen" bullet-train which has a world-famous safety and punctuality record. "The conductor checked the carriage and found that the door was completely open," a-company-spokesman told AFP.

Bullet Train Project To Be Completed By 2023, Says Piyush Goyal

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR), also known as Bullet Train Project will be completed by 2023, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said in the Rajya Sabha. "This project is being executed by a special purpose vehicle namely National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), with the financial and technical assistance from the Government of Japan. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs.1,08,000-crore," he said.
