Delhiites Can Now Swipe Their Metro Cards for Bus Fare From Today

The AAP-led Delhi government today announced that Delhi Metro Cards will now be valid on all DTC and cluster buses. This means that commuters will be able to change between various modes of public transport using the Delhi metro card and travel seamlessly across the city from August 24. It also said that "Metro cards will now be available at all DTC pass sections".

Students protest demanding free bus passes in Karnataka

Demanding free bus passes for all students in Karnataka, students of various educational institutions staged a protest in Ramanagaram, in front of the Revenue department building, on Friday. They argued that the previous Govt had announced that free bus passes would be issued to students. But no allocation had been made in the recent state budget for such a benefit.

Delhi Government To Procure 500 Low-Floor Buses

The Delhi government approved a proposal for procuring an additional 500 low floor buses for the Delhi Transport Corporation(DTC). Transport minister Kailash Gahlot took the decision while chairing the board meeting of the DTC. The board also agreed to extension of student concessional bus pass facilities to all bonafide institutes within Delhi extending the benefit to the students of educational institutions set-up after 2002.
