A Special Court in Guna has sentenced 13 people to life imprisonment for beating to death Dalit farmer Neelam Ahirwar, who tried to file a complaint against them under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act in a Madhya Pradesh village in 2017. The convicts had scaled his house and thrashed him and his wife, who was hospitalised after the attack.
Cook dismissed for throwing away food touched by lower caste student

A woman cook on Monday was removed from a government school in Rajasthan's Udaipur district after she allegedly threw away the midday meal touched by a girl student who belonged to a lower caste, the school principal said. The action was taken after a video went viral on the social media in which the class 8 girl, is purportedly shown narrating the incident.
Bihar mahadalit man shot dead for dancing at wedding

A man from Mahadalit caste was shot dead for allegedly intruding into a marriage procession of another caste and dancing at a village in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, a senior police officer said. The incident that took place in Abhi Chhapra village, about 30 km from Muzaffarpur town led to clashes, loot and arson. The wedding party members, belonged to an influential other backward caste.
