A man, who "confessed" to killing two-women over the last 10-years on live TV, was arrested mid-show from a news channel studio on Tuesday, the police said. In the television programme, the 31-year-old accused, Maninder Singh, who is a cab driver, said he had killed his live-in partner on New Year's eve. Sarabjit Kaur, a 27-year-old nurse, was allegedly killed inside a hotel room.
Biker fined Rs 14,500 under 7 offences after mocking traffic cop

Chandigarh traffic police issued a fine of Rs.14,500 against a biker, who, along with two pillion riders, escaped after mocking a policeman who signalled them to stop. The biker was fined for triple riding, driving without helmet, disobeying traffic signal, driving on the wrong side, driving on the cycle track, dangerous driving, and endangering others' lives with negligent driving.
Haryana Government To Observe 2-Day State Mourning For Arun Jaitley

The Haryana-government has decided to observe a two-day state-mourning as a mark-of-respect to former-Union-finance-minister Arun Jaitley, who died in New Delhi on Saturday. According to a circular issued by the chief-secretary-office in Chandigarh, the national-flag will fly at half-mast from August-24 to August-25 in the state on all the buildings where it is flown regularly, and there will be no-official programmes on these days.
