Sad people more prone to becoming chain smokers, reveals new study

Sadness, and not all negative emotions, lead people to smoking and turn it into an addictive behaviour, a first-of-its-kind set of four inter-woven-studies has revealed. A team of researchers based at Harvard-University discovered that sadness plays an especially strong-role in triggering addictive behaviour relative to other negative emotions like disgust. In the first-study, researchers examined data from a national-survey that tracked 10,685-people over 20-years.
India Ranked 5th In Pictorial Warnings On Cigarette Packets

India has slipped to the fifth position among 206 countries in terms of the largest pictorial warning on cigarette packs with 85 percent of both sides of the packets covered, according to a report released by the Canadian Cancer Society. India secured the fifth rank, jointly with Hong Kong and Thailand, in the Cigarette Package Health Warnings: International Status Report 2018.
