New Delhi to host Japanese Film Festival from Sept 28

To cultivate friendship and ties between Japan and India, the Japan Foundation, New Delhi is organising the Japanese Film Festival at PVR Cinemas, Select Citywalk from September 28 to October 3. The JFF is a Japanese film platform to raise interest in Japanese films and draw in a larger audience in the ASEAN countries.
PVR eyes overseas expansion after India acquisitions

India's largest multiplex chain PVR Cinemas' CFO Nitin Sood has said the company's "big focus" is to look at Saudi Arabia, which recently lifted a 35-year ban on cinema. PVR is also expecting to open a nine-screen multiplex in Sri Lanka's capital Colombo at the beginning of the next fiscal. This comes after PVR recently acquired Chennai-based SPI Cinemas.
PVR aims Rs 500-crore revenue from SPI Cinemas by 2019-20

Multiplex chain PVR Ltd is eyeing Rs-500-crore revenue from South-India-based SPI Cinemas, which the former is in the process of acquiring, by financial year 2019-20. "We expect SPI Cinema acquisition to contribute Rs 500 crore revenue by financial year 2020. We also expect this acquisition to help us diversify content risk further with good mix of regional, Bollywood and Hollywood films," said Kamal Gianchandani.
