Congress president Rahul Gandhi slammed BJP manifesto. He accused party's vision statement of not being representative of people of India, calling BJP manifesto "short-sighted and arrogant". The BJP top-brass including PM Narendra Modi, party chief Amit Shah, Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley released the party manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, called 'Sankalp Patra' in New Delhi on April-8.

Party spokespersons will release the manifesto at the state headquarters and list out the key points in the document. The aim is to reach out to the grassroots level and ensure that the message of the party reaches the people on the street and the hinterland.
Congress manifesto promises to do away with British-era sedition law

Congress has promised to review and amend a host of laws, rules and regulations and among them is the contentious British-era law of Section 124A of IPC that defines sedition. In its manifesto released on Tuesday, Congress has promised to omit the Indian Penal Code Section 124A. Interestingly, Congress has said the law has been misused time and again and has become redundant.
