Coronavirus has infected 80,000 globally, caused 2,700 deaths

A viral outbreak that began in China has infected more than 80,000 people globally. The World Health Organization has named the illness COVID-19, referring to its origin late last year and the coronavirus that causes it. Mainland China: 2,715 deaths among 78,064 cases, mostly in the central province of Hubei. Hong Kong: 81 cases, 2 deaths.
Over 50,000 travellers screened at Mumbai airport for coronavirus symptoms

The health department of Maharashtra on Monday said that over 50,000 travellers have undergone screening at the international airport in Mumbai for novel coronavirus since January 18. The screening for the deadly infection started at the busy airport more than a fortnight after the coronavirus (named by the WHO as Covid-19) outbreak was reported from the Hubei province in central China in December-end.
