Captains won't be suspended for slow over-rates anymore: ICC

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given the green-signal to the recommendation of ICC's Cricket Committee that captains in international cricket should not be suspended for slow over-rates. Instead the ICC will now deduct "competition points" and fine the whole team in a bid to reduce the instances of slow over-rates. These new regulations will come into play with the upcoming World Test championship.

IPL 2019 Schedule: IPL schedule announced for first two weeks

Indian Premier League (IPL) released the schedule for the first two weeks, during which 17 matches will be played, of the 12th season of the cash-rich Twenty20 league. Under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening match of IPL 2019 on March 23.

Sri Lanka fined for slow over rate in first ODI against New Zealand

Sri Lanka cricket team were fined for maintaining a slow over-rate against New Zealand in first-One-Day International in Mount Maunganui. Skipper Malinga was fined 20% of his match-fee while the players were imposed with 10% deduction. Sri Lanka lost match by 45-runs. The fine was imposed after Sri Lanka was ruled to be one-over-short of their target when time allowances were taken into consideration.
