Kerala seeks Tamil Nadu help for dam ops

The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has decided to request the Central Water Commission to issue directions to Tamil Nadu to open the shutters of all dams under their control in the state in advance given the heavy rainfall forecast by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The state started releasing waters from some of the dams as rains intensified in their catchment areas.
Dam shutters open as Kerala braces for rains

Kerala, which is still struggling to cope with the effects of the devastating floods that hit the state in August, is bracing up for another spell of heavy-rains over next five-six days. Shutters of dams in Thrissur and Palakkad districts were lifted to drain out excess water. A red alert has been issued for October 7 and an orange alert for October 8.
Jaipur to face water scarcity due to cut in supply from Bisalpur dam

Consumers will be supplied water only for 45 to 70 minutes on a daily basis from Wednesday as compared to 1 to 1.5 hours of daily supply being done for last 10-years due to scarcity of water in the city. The water supply department has decided to cut 1000 lakh litres of water daily due to decreased water level of Bisalpur dam.
