Youth-run agency AIESEC exposed over 4 million intern applications

Youth-run international organisation AIESEC exposed around four lakh intern applications on a server without a password, security researcher Bob Diachenko said. The leaked data included the affected applicant's name, date of birth, email and gender. AIESEC's global vice president of information management confirmed the leak but said that no more than 40 users had been affected by it.

Hackers leak details of German lawmakers

Twitter suspended an account that posted links to sensitive personal data and documents stolen by hackers from hundreds of German public figures and politicians from every political party but the far-right Alternative for Germany. The exposed material included addresses, cellphone numbers and chat records, along with banking, credit card and other financial information, German news media said.

UK watchdog fines Facebook 500,000 pounds for data breach scandal

Britain's Information Commissioner has slapped Facebook with a fine of 500,000 pounds the maximum possible for its behavior in Cambridge Analytica scandal. The ICO's investigation found that between 2007 to 2014, Facebook processed the personal information of users unfairly by giving app developers access to their information without informed consent. The fine was maximum allowed under the law at the time the breach occurred.
