Delhi Cricket Body Withdraws Defamation Case Against Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and cricketer-turned-MP Kirti Azad informed the Delhi High Court that the defamation case by cricketing body DDCA against them has been settled. DDCA too informed the court that it is withdrawing its Rs.5-crore defamation suit against the two. Both Mr Kejriwal and suspended BJP MP Azad told Justice R.S.Endlaw that they are withdrawing their allegedly defamatory statements against the DDCA.

The Madras HC issued an interim injunction restraining a former magazine editor and six-others from making any statement linking Tamil Nadu CM Palaniswami to Kodanad estate break-in case. Justice Kalyanasundaram issued exparte interim injunction on a defamation suit filed by Palaniswami against former Tehelka managing editor Samuel Mathew and others over-a-video-clip linking the AIADMK leader to the robbery at the Kodanad estate in 2017.

The Trinamool Congress threatened to file a criminal defamation case against BJP President Amit Shah if he did not withdraw his comments suggesting that TMC leaders collected syndicate tax. During the 'Gantantra Bachao Yatra' in West Bengal, Amit Shah said if the BJP came to power, it would ensure that the people of the state do not have to pay syndicate tax.
