A 20-year-old woman was allegedly beaten up, punched in her eyes and confined to the house by her younger brother, who was angry at her for buying a suit worth Rs. 100, the Delhi Commission For Women said on Tuesday. The staff of the ''Mahila Panchayat Programme'' of the DCW were conducting door-to-door visits when they heard the screams of the woman.

Delhi Women's Panel Rescues Domestic Help Locked Inside Employer's House

The Delhi Commission for Women has rescued 12-year-old girl from a locked west Delhi bungalow, whose owners allegedly employed her as a house-help but did not pay-wages and also beat her-up, women's panel said. The Commission initiated rescue after it received a complaint on its helpline 181 that a girl was engaged as a housemaid in Vikaspuri bungalow that belonged to a transport businessman.

The Delhi Commission For Women has rescued three-year-old girl, who was allegedly neglected by her alcoholic father and was found lying in her excreta. The child was admitted to hospital where doctors found the child's private-parts severely infected due to dirty diapers and poor-hygiene, commission said. Neighbours alleged the father would give the girl liquor in her milk-bottle when she would cry for food.
