Delhi Women Panel Head Falls Unconscious During Strike, Hospitalised

Delhi Commission For Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal, who was on a hunger strike to demand capital punishment for rapists within six months of their conviction, was taken to a hospital after she lost consciousness on Sunday morning. Ms Maliwal has been on a hunger strike for over 10 days and was sitting at the Samta Sthal near Raj Ghat.

Several members of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) took out a protest march on Thursday morning demanding capital punishment for rapists. The march started near Rajghat but was stopped near ITO by the police. The protestors were scheduled to go towards the Parliament. They raised slogans "we are ashamed that your rapists are still alive Nirbhaya" and demanded justice.
Woman Punched, Confined To Home By Brother For Buying Suit In Delhi

A 20-year-old woman was allegedly beaten up, punched in her eyes and confined to the house by her younger brother, who was angry at her for buying a suit worth Rs. 100, the Delhi Commission For Women said on Tuesday. The staff of the ''Mahila Panchayat Programme'' of the DCW were conducting door-to-door visits when they heard the screams of the woman.
