
Delhi High Court Dismisses Plea Seeking Stay On St Stephen's College Admission Interviews

The Delhi HC dismissed a plea challenging the inclusion of a supreme council-member of St Stephen's college in the interview panel for admission of Christian students to the institute. Justice Anu Malhotra dismissed the plea moved by three professors of the college. The court had earlier declined to stay the interview process for admission of Christian students to the college under the Delhi University.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu urges youth to strive to build New India

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu called upon the youth to strive to build a new India which is "free of fear, corruption, hunger, discrimination, illiteracy, poverty, caste barriers and urban-rural divide." Interacting with students of Delhi University, who called on him at his residence here on Saturday, Naidu urged youth to develop a constructive attitude and focus on achieving perfection in whatever they do.

UGC to cut down funds of DU-colleges running without Principals

University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a warning to 21 colleges under the Delhi University, saying their financial grants will be withheld if they do not appoint full-time Principals. Over 22 out of 77 colleges in the Delhi University are running without a permanent Principal, irking the Teachers' Association of the University which has been demanding streamlining of the appointment process.
