1 Air India, 2 SpiceJet Pilots Suspended For Violating Safety Rules: Report

Three-pilots were suspended by civil aviation watchdog, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, for violating safety norms, news agency ANI reported. While one pilot is from national carrier Air India, two are from private operator SpiceJet, the agency added. A member of Air India's cabin crew was also suspended, the agency reported. The pilots are identified as Aarati Gunasekaran and Saurabh Gulia, PTI reported.

Four senior executives of IndiGo airline were issued show cause notices Friday by the civil aviation watchdog, DGCA, after a special audit team of the aviation regulator found safety lapses, according to sources privy to the development. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) carried out the audit at the IndiGo office in Gurgaon on July 8 and July 9, the sources said.

2 Air Asia Pilots Suspended For Damaging Aircraft Wing: Aviation Watchdog

Aviation regulator DGCA has suspended flying licences of two pilots of AirAsia India for violating procedures that caused damage to the wing sharklet of an aircraft, according to a senior official. The left hand wing sharklet of an A320 aircraft that was to fly to Bengaluru was damaged while negotiating a turn from the runway at Bagdogra airport on February 15.
