Tiny claws let drones perch like birds and bats

A team of international scientists has made a gripping mechanism that functions like the claws of birds to help a drone save energy by resting on ledges and poles. The team fitted 3D-printed static modules and a gripper on a drone that also let it hang upside down like a bat. "Perching...can provide lower power consumption...better stability," a scientist said.

Government approves 54 killer drones from Israel for Indian Air Force

In a major boost for Indian Air Force's unmanned warfare capability, the Defence Ministry has approved 54 Israeli HAROP attack drones which can crash into high-value enemy military targets to destroy them completely. The Air Force already has an inventory of around 110 of these drones which have now been renamed as P-4.

Singapore Plans To Roll Out Drones For Parcel Delivery, Security

Hi-tech Singapore is planning to roll-out a swarm of drones for tasks that include delivering parcels, inspecting buildings and providing security, but safety and privacy concerns mean the initiative may hit turbulence. Companies have already started testing the devices for commercial use, mainly in an area of over 200-hectares(500-acres) dotted with high-rise buildings and shopping malls, specially designated by the government for the trials.
